"The Portrait" Series Goes to Edinburgh, Scotland

©Haley Chambers

One of my most recent bodies of work, The Portrait has been shipped, matted, framed, and hung for a show in Edinburgh Scotland.

The series concept, derived from RenĂ© Descartes' theory of dualism, speaks about the function of portraiture through combined art mediums.
The body (existing through mass): The photograph. The Mind (existing through thought): the blind contour drawing.

Soon To Come!

It has been a long while since I have uploaded anything.
I have made a lot of work since last, and it is indeed on its way! I am also
working on my website with a friend Kyle Tait. You should take
a minute to check out his wonderful work!

In the meantime, stay tuned for some new stuff from the past while!

Stay tuned for all of my new work and the new site!

And here is a wee, sneak peak at on of my most recent bodies of work.

Erik's House

A few weeks ago, I went to Hamilton and spent a few hours adventuring through my friend Erik's family property. It was so windy, but the cold didn't stop us from seeing a lot of interesting things. This land expands far beyond what you can see from the view from his back door and was wonderful to explore.

The Gravel Pits - Working on a Landscape Image

I took my roommate's 4x5 camera up north this weekend to shoot a landscape for my photography production class. This is a gravel pit that my Dad's friend Sam owns with his wife. It is one of the couple of places that I shot with 4x5 today. I just took this digital image as a preview I suppose.
